Any leader on LinkedIn will have more engagement and often more followers on their personal page than their company's page. Next, market your company through your own authentic LinkedIn page. Myths and legends are built up about people, and then you meet people and like them more because they are real, authentic and hopefully genuine. People will find out about you if you’re fake. People buy people on social media and in real life. You socially sell by engaging with people - not companies - on LinkedIn. If you only connect with people who you know, then you are also limiting your global reach.Īs long as someone is substantial, has a real profile with many connections (some shared), has interesting content and you think you can do business with them in some way (which doesn’t need to be monetary) or you wish to just network with them, then connect. If all you do is connect with people who only have a few hundred connections, that will also limit your second and third connections, which hold the most potential when it comes to social selling. If you merely connect with people you have met three times, then that will get you nowhere when it comes to social selling, as your network will be too limited.
